Recording at Swing House Studios in Los Angeles 20/02/2013
Last November when Brian was in Los Angeles at HMMA awards he had the honour of having lunch with renowned producer and all around wise dude Jack Douglas. A couple of days later Jack set up a meeting for Brian to meet his close associate and maestro Warren Huart. Warren and Brian hit it off and a plan was hatched. Long story short: bass goddess Tanya O'Callaghan, who often plays with Preachers Son, was in LA for NAAM, she extended her stay to join Brian in the studio. The incredible Phil Allen who often works with Warren (drums and engineering) joined the cause and the mighty four: Warren, Phil, Brian and Tanya spent a week in Swing House studios, Hollywood recording five songs. Waiting on the mixes...watch this space .....

On their day of rest Sunday Feb 19th Brian, Tanya, Phil and legendary fastest shredder in the world, Michael Angelo Batio, played a Preachers Son set at Happening Harry's Heartbreaker's Ball at the King King club in Hollywood, mighty craic was had!

Great Review for Come On in Irish Music Magazine Hot Press 05/04/2012
Hot Press "A terrific, sub-three minute rocker with no let-up from beginning to end and a take-no-prisoners vocal performance from Brian Hogan, ‘Come On’ sounds like the result of a three-way collaboration between Jack White, the late Phil Lynott and (I’m not kidding here) ‘70s glamsters, The Sweet. In fact, I almost found myself singing the words to their 1973 hit ‘Blockbuster’ over the instrumental version helpfully included on this taster from Preachers Sons’ forthcoming album, 10 Stories Tall."

Yoko Ono's 79th birthday party in NY 18/02/2012
Brian was in NY final mixing new album 10 Stories Told with producer Marc Urselli (Lou Reed, Mike Patton (Faith No More)). Saturday Feb 18th they were working in Eastside studio downtown and Sean Lennon (who's working currently with Marc on his own material) invites them both to his Mum's birthday party in Soho. After work Marc and Brian head down to Yoko Ono's 79th birthday party at Le Poisson Rouge nightclub which was kitted out (especially for Yoko) with a psychedelic silver entrance tunnel and and abundance of trees with special messages tied on. Four hors d'oeuvres and a free bar later, Yoko wailed over a funky set by Sean Lennon's ensemble. Brian met Liv Tyler, who he reports is very very gorgeous in the flesh and chatted to iconic rock'n'roll photographer Bob Gruen, and members of Wilco.
It was like a visit to the heart of the New York alt, art and rock'n'roll scene including the must have goody pack that Yoko gave all the guests: a kaleidoscope that says 'Love', fake tattoo's saying Imagine and Peace in many languages.
